Wear your Skin with Pride

Nowadays beauty standards have become so unrealistic and everyone is living a false reality (none other than the social media)….

We are expected to look flawless in the pictures that we upload, because the more unblemished we are, the more likes and comments we’ll get. Now, we all know, not everyone has a porcelain skin like a barbie doll; so that’s where the beauty filters in our smart phones come in handy. I’m not saying that’s a bad thing entirely, I myself use these filters. But when we engross ourselves too much in these fake standards then we actually forget what to expect in the real world, and what to expect from others.

We should learn to embrace our imperfections, and should not fall in this trap of looking flawless all the time. We are what we want others to see, hence the way we exude confidence will define who we are as an individual. But that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t take care or pamper ourselves. So here are few tips and tricks for a healthier looking skin,

Hydration, hydration and hydration: I know it’s a very cliche advice but trust me it’s the most effective of all. Have plenty of water, along with green tea, chamomile tea or any tea of your liking.

Go natural: I am a big fan of organic products when it comes to applying on skin. My favorite instant glow mask is turmeric milk mask. Turmeric has antioxidants and helps bring out the natural glow, while milk makes skin soft and supple. Just take two table spoons of turmeric and few spoonfuls of milk to make a paste like consistency. Apply daily on face for 20-30 minutes, rinse with lukewarm water.

Add supplements in your diet: We all should eat healthy, but in today’s hectic world, it sometimes becomes difficult to have nutritional food all the time. So we should add supplements in our diets, to make sure we are getting the necessary vitamins and minerals for a healthier looking skin and body in general. I take vitamin E religiously, as it helps support a healthier skin and combats free radicals.

There are other numerous things we could either take or apply for a youthful looking skin but let’s not go overboard with it and try to be comfortable with what we can easily do or afford. Because thinking too much about such stuff can have adverse effects on skin rather than positive.

Stay positive, stay healthy.
